Color Identifier

Identify Color

Name any color and read its codes, from the real world or a photo.

Put a name and codes to any color

It’s easy to see a color and still not know what it is. Color Identifier lets you identify color with a point or a tap. Aim your iPhone at a real object with Live Camera, or tap a spot in a photo, and the app names the shade and shows the values behind it.

How to identify color

  1. Open Color Identifier.
  2. Choose Live Camera for real objects, or From Photo for an image.
  3. Point or tap at the color you want.
  4. Read the color name plus Hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone codes.

That’s the whole flow to identify color anywhere you are.

More than a label

The plain color name answers everyday curiosity, and because naming the shade can help when similar colors are hard to tell apart, it doubles as an aid for color vision deficiency. The codes take it further, letting you reuse the exact color in design, print, or paint matching.

Once you identify a color, keep it. Save readings into palettes, group them by project, and export or share the codes for later use. Color Identifier is free to download, and your first scans are free.
